Now we’ve just made a pretty tall claim and we know that. But we’ve been making tall claims right since day one and have been living up to them. When people hear “Himalayas”, they usually think snow tipped barren mountains – the kind of landscape one sees in Ladakh. For many, that’s the ultimate biking experience and indeed, for many Royal Enfield owners in the country, Ladakh has become something of a Mecca.
But we’ve always considered “One Crazy Ride” to be our flagship tour. We believe that nothing in the country comes close to delivering the experience that we promise with One Crazy Ride. It’s not only about the diverse landscape but also about the people and the adventure that puts this ride to the Eastern Himalayas a bit higher up in our eyes than our Ladakh ride.
One of the gripes we constantly heard about One Crazy Ride was that it was too long – 21 days was quite a stretch in terms of being away from work and family. So we donned our helmets and started to look at how we could distill the 21-day experience into a more accessible 14-days. I’m glad to say that we’ve managed to do just that. One Crazy Ride is now 14 days of adventure, landscapes and tribal interactions planned in such a way that it fits beautifully around the holiday season. Now you can be off from work when it’s easiest to get off and can still be back home in time for Thanksgiving & Christmas. And yes, the hanging bridges are still part of the route ;-)
